The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires each institution to determine "directory information" that may be released without the student''s consent, unless the student has specifically requested that some or all of the information not be released. State College of Florida has classified the following as directory information:

Student name
Degree of study
Participation in officially recognized FCSAA activities
Weight and height of members of athletic teams
Terms of attendance
Degrees and awards received
